Emergencies

01.06 — 05.10.2014

Emergencies offers a reflection on the relationship between humans and the contemporary world, on the utopia of a global understanding of the universe, and on the relationship between a work of art and the “whole” from which it originates. Each work thus crystallises the emergence of a poetic and artistic “island”. This reflection is underpinned by philosophical theories of the contemporary world (Deleuzian rhizome, bubbles and spheres in Sloterdijk, Foucauldian heterotopia) that interpret the universe beyond linearity and diachrony, at a time when the monad is breaking up and multiplying. Emergence thus metaphorises artistic appearance, which derives and flows directly from this bubble-like, spherical network, this ‘organism’ in motion, while also differentiating itself from it. Born of the universal magma, the work of art emerges through its imaginary and poetic tone, through the infinite power of its possibilities.
