One always regrets a little the choice of a title and the imposition of a theme. It is difficult not to be too heavy-handed, too literal. It is even more difficult not to lose oneself in the multitude of interpretations, not to get bogged down in the unnecessary. A title should be nothing more than a way of naming, and therefore defining and clarifying the style of an exhibition, giving it a tone, a colour and, above all, unity. To give it unity and offer the viewer a possible reading, a way of accessing the works on display. It can only be a pretext, but it already plays its role. It can be a stimulus for the artist, a new way of approaching a work. The works presented here are presented in relation to a title that must be generic for the exhibition as a whole. Fifty-six interventions on the site should bring abundance, diversity, quality and conviviality. The exhibition aims to be open. The accumulation of works should be rich in confrontations and interpretations. It is a way of breaking with the site, of abstracting oneself from it. Each person is alone, and the others do not allow themselves to be forgotten. The setting is theatrical, like a crowd in motion or a street scene. It must highlight the uniqueness of the details and all the possible views, the calm or agitation of each individual amid the din of the whole. Fifty-six interventions, fifty-six works on the site—perhaps that is a lot.
